Terms of Use
Effective 23 September 2026
In short: use the app for your own planning and, in groups and teams, be decent to the people you share it with. You are responsible for what you post; we remove what breaks these rules. Premium and Team plans are billed, cancelled and refunded through Google Play. Alarms, pay figures and holidays are there to help, but please check anything important.
Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Eren Talan (“we”, “us”), the developer of Shift Calendar: Work Planner (“the app”) and its online service at shiftcal.quantix.studio (“the service”). By downloading or using the app, or by creating an account, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. The Privacy Policy explains how the app handles data and is part of these terms.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that apply to you and cannot be waived by contract.
Using the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on Android devices you own or control, as allowed by the Google Play Terms of Service. You agree not to:
- copy, modify, resell or redistribute the app
- reverse engineer it or bypass its purchase checks, except where the law allows this
- probe, overload or disrupt the service, get around its limits, or access it other than through the app or this website
- use it for anything unlawful
Accounts
The calendar works without an account. Cloud sync, Friends groups and Teams need one. If you create an account:
- give accurate information, including an e-mail address that is yours
- one person per account: don't share an account or create one for someone else without their permission
- keep your password safe and don't use it elsewhere; tell us at once if you think someone else is using your account
- you must be at least 16 years old
You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete it at any time in the app or at shiftcal.quantix.studio/delete-account.
Friends and Teams
Friends groups let you share your calendar with people you invite, comment on days, react and propose shift swaps. You choose how much of your calendar each group sees. Only invite people who want to be invited, and only share invite links with them.
Teams let an organisation plan its staff's shifts: the owner and admins run the team, operators plan their units, and members see their published schedule, send requests and set their availability. The team's owner is responsible for the team, for who is invited and for what the team contains, including the pay rules it sets. A published schedule in the app is a convenience; your employer's official roster and your contract are what count.
An accepted swap changes calendars as agreed in the app. Whether a swap is allowed at your workplace is between you and your employer.
What you post
Day comments, reactions, swap notes, team requests and their notes, announcements and publish messages are your content. You keep your rights to it and are responsible for it. You give us the permission we need to store it and show it to the people it is meant for. Don't post:
- harassment, bullying, threats or incitement to violence
- hate speech: attacks on people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or age
- sexual content
- spam, advertising or scams
- anything illegal, or that encourages illegal acts
- other people's personal data without their consent, such as their phone number, address or health information
- content that impersonates someone else
Team announcements and requests are workplace content: the team's owner and admins can remove them, and the team's own rules apply as well.
Reporting and blocking
In a Friends group you can report a comment from its menu, choosing spam, harassment, inappropriate or other. The report and a copy of the comment come to us. You can also block a member: you no longer see their comments or get notifications about them, both of you stay in the group, and you can unblock them at any time. You can leave a group whenever you like.
For anything else, including content in a team, write to support@quantix.studio. If there is an immediate danger to someone, contact the local emergency services first.
What we do
We review every report. If content breaks these terms or the law, we may remove it, suspend the account that posted it, or delete that account, depending on how serious and how repeated the breach is. We may act without a report where we become aware of a serious breach, and we will pass information to the authorities where the law requires it. If we suspend or delete your account, you can write to us to ask why and to disagree. Handled reports are deleted after 90 days.
Premium
Most of the app is free. Some features are part of Premium, such as extra rotations, exact alarms, wage calculation, the stats dashboard, the month widget, device calendar sync, exports, cloud sync, and more Friends groups with swaps and free days. The list in the app at the time of purchase is the one that applies. We may improve, add or change features over time. We won't take away a feature you paid for without offering a reasonable alternative or refund, where the law requires one.
Subscriptions, Team plans and billing
- Payment. Premium and Team plans are sold through Google Play, and payment is charged to your Google Play account. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may include taxes.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel any time in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. Uninstalling the app or deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription. What you paid for stays active until the end of the current period.
- Free trials. If a Premium plan offers one, it becomes paid when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.
- Team plans are bought by the team's owner and cover a number of seats. Every active member and every open invitation takes a seat. A new team starts with a 14-day free trial, once per owner, with no payment needed. When a trial or plan ends, the team keeps working for a short time, then becomes read-only until the owner chooses or renews a plan. Members can always view their published schedule.
- Price changes. Google Play notifies you of a price change before it applies to your subscription.
- Lifetime purchase is a one-time payment. It doesn't renew and unlocks Premium for as long as the app is available.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policies and your local law.
- Restoring. Use Restore purchases in the app to unlock Premium again on a new device signed in to the same Google account. If you're signed in, Premium also follows your Shift Calendar account.
Alarms, pay and holidays
The app is a planning aid. Please keep these limits in mind:
- Alarms and reminders depend on your phone. Battery saving, Do Not Disturb, a silenced or switched-off phone, missing permissions, or manufacturer restrictions can delay or stop them. For a shift you cannot miss, keep a backup alarm.
- Notifications from groups and teams travel over the internet and can arrive late or not at all.
- Pay figures are estimates from the rates and rules you or your team enter. They are not payroll, tax or legal advice. Your employer's payslip and your contract are what count.
- Public holidays are calculated from general rules and may not include regional, one-off or newly announced holidays.
- Your schedule is what you and your team enter. Always follow the official roster from your employer.
Your data
Your calendar data belongs to you. Without cloud sync it is stored only on your device, and you're responsible for keeping backups: if you lose your phone or clear the app's data without a backup, we can't recover it. Content you share with others, such as a partner calendar, a PDF or what your groups see, is yours to share responsibly. A team's data belongs to the organisation that runs the team.
Service availability
Accounts, cloud sync, Friends groups, Teams and notifications need our server and an internet connection. We work to keep the service running, but it may be unavailable at times, for example for maintenance, and we may need to ask you to update the app to keep using it. Your calendar, reminders and alarms on the phone keep working offline. We may change or end online features; if we end the online service, we will give reasonable notice where we can, so you have time to download your data.
Ownership
The app, its design, code and name are owned by Eren Talan and protected by law. These terms don't give you any rights to our trademarks. Open-source components and the Manrope font are used under their own licences, listed in the app.
No warranty
To the extent the law allows, the app and the service are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including that they will be error-free, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost wages, missed shifts, employment consequences or lost data arising from using or being unable to use the app or the service, or from what other users post. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. None of this limits liability for gross negligence, intent, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Ending these terms
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it and deleting your account. Uninstalling doesn't delete your account or cancel a subscription; cancel it in Google Play. We may suspend or end your account and your licence if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, as described under What we do.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date, and tell you in the app or the release notes about significant changes. If you keep using the app afterwards, the updated terms apply.
